The beautiful Ramona,

California is a quaint suburb situated just around an hour outside of sunny San Diego. In today’s blog I’ll be sharing with you some of my favorite things from my partner Bruce and I’s most recent week trip to this town.
Its only appropriate to start with where we stayed while visiting Ramona. We decided to book our stay in the small neighborhood of San Diego Country Estates, or The Estates, in a two bedroom condo. Considering it was just Bruce and I staying there, this place was more than pleasing! Two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, full kitchen, huge dining and living room space, in-suite washer and dryer and two decent size balconies with outside seating on both and a grill on one.
The estates were well equipped with amenities such as multiple tennis and Pickleball courts,

a pool and hot tub area, inside game room inside the fitness center and beautiful walking trails nearby with a view of the mountains at any angle. the front desk stuff were extremely helpful and room staff were attentive by always provided things we needed in a timely manner such as trash bags, coffee grounds and laundry detergent.
Now on to our favorite things we ate here. Since Ramona is a smaller town, there weren’t a ton of options when it came to our excited palates. You’re not completely out of luck, though! I have a surefire list of delicious eats that will have you curious about this place.
The first place we’re gonna discuss is Hummingbird Coffee Hut! This cute little gem had to come first on the list because driving through the estates, it’s easy to pass by! In fact, we did twice before we realized what it was. Our front desk host was so kind to share some places with us and this was one she mentioned for the early mornings.
The name is exactly what it is, a coffee hut. Picture a stationary food truck with a small seating area. its placed in a parking lot with a pizzeria and convenient store just a few minutes down the road. The menu is small but has variety. we chose a bacon empanada, a soy chorizo empanada, biscuits and gravy, and a dirty chai latte. Bruce isn’t much of a coffee drinker. I knew that the food would taste good just based off of their options, but everything was absolutely delicious; so good that we went back two more times and ordered an array of things. For example, they offer biscuits and gravy with the choice to add on bacon and egg! It definitely became a go-to in the mornings for us. Anything on the menu is worth trying.
The next place is Marinade on Main. This place is a farm to table New American cuisine restaurant situated on (you guessed it) Main Street in Ramona, less than 10 mins from our stay. this isn’t your average hometown kitchen; this place takes full pride in their dishes and customer service, which translates to this contagious atmosphere.

Together we ordered the poutine fries, southern belle chicken salad, and two beer flights.

Our pictures could do more justice but boy was i impressed! This was a place i wish we could've squeezed an extra visit to.
Now, this next location is for my cannabis users. This place is called Jaxx cannabis, and it was located about 15 minutes away from where we stayed in Ramona, California in the Estates. Jaxx offers online ordering to make pickups a breeze. Now, this place does not look like a dispensary. it’s very discreet but once you walk inside everyone is inviting and the weed is great quality. I found this place on Google after a really hard and long first day arriving in San Diego and we were extremely grateful to find them. Jaxx offered great deals on flower and even $.01 birthday joints, which I had the pleasure of enjoying.

So conveniently placed for us, we didnt need any other dispensary during our trip!
The ones who know, know that after consuming cannabis, you suddenly get realllllly hungry. or certain foods sound so good you need it at that second! Jack in the box covered our butts when we needed a quick sandwich before hitting the road to explore. Bruce and I being from the midwest, we don’t have jack in the box and i also never heard much speculation in regards to there. We just thought, why not? it cant be too bad of a choice. oh it was so delicious for a fast food burger joint that also sells tacos!? the meat didnt taste like mush and every ingredient I consumed tasted really good in comparison to any other fast food restaurant I’ve ever had. Yes, I was high and yes I still stand by this feeling sober lol.
The remainder of our trip was spent, relaxing and trying a few other San Diego. Best eats which are featured in some of my future blogs so stay tuned for more in depth look on those experiences.
